Me And The Boys

I think Hampton, NB should win as no town can compete with the wonderful people here in my community.. Here is our story.. My 17 year old son Nick got sick two years ago, we were running to Dr's and specialists and no one could tell us what was going on, as he was declining further and further to the point where some days he couldn't get out of bed or feed himself.. During these two years people in the community have been so supportive, helping us out, keeping Nicks moral.. examples He has played hockey all his life and last year we didn't think he would be well enough to play, but he tried his hardest to make a comeback and his coaches Rob, John and Anthony pulled for him and put him on our high school hockey team.. he was on some pretty heavy drugs but the Dr's assured us that he was ok to play and he needed to continue to do normal teenager things.. so he played, even though sometimes he couldn't get through a whole game, his coaches let him play when he was having a good day.. His school teachers and friends have been helping him, even if he can only get to school twice a week, they were there to help with homework, help him get to his classes and pass his grades as his most desired wish is to graduate with his friends next year.. We finally got a diagnosis of Lyme Disease but could not get into a Lyme Literate Doctor for several months with Nick's health declining, we were very worried.. Robert Doucet who is on our Town council as well a member of CanLyme had an appointment with a Lyme Specialist Dr in Port Hawkesbury NS, he gave up his appt for Nick and drove us to the Doctor 5 hrs each way not allowing us to pay for anything. There are so many examples of the generosity of this community not just for Nick but for each other, My one wish is to be able to Thank all these wonderful people for everything they have done for my son and when I had seen this I thought why not give it a try.. What better way to show a community that gave us hope a great time.. Thank You .. Karen Dupuis
