In this role he is directly responsible for more than 200 President’s Choice® Cooking Schools across the country. When he isn’t dreaming up fabulous recipes and classes and leading his talented team of chefs and cooking school coordinators, Tom delights audiences across the country with his easy-to-follow recipes, cooking tips and fun easy-going attitude on popular TV shows such as Canada AM, Steven & Chris and Breakfast Television. In addition, Tom co-stars alongside Loblaw Chairman Galen G Weston in the President’s Choice brand TV commercials.

Tom learned to cook at a young age. After completing his culinary education, Tom spent time overseas in the kitchens of Italy. Tom's professional career began at the Royal York Hotel, a famous Toronto landmark. There, he spent his time as an apprentice, obtaining his Red Seal certification, honing his skills and building credibility working his way up the ranks in its fine-dining kitchen. While Tom’s distinguished skills have afforded him the pleasure of cooking for royalty and celebrities alike, his greatest pleasure is still cooking for family and friends.

A native of the Toronto area, Chef Tom joined Loblaw Companies as Executive Chef of the President’s Choice® Cooking Schools in 2000. His teaching methods combine his passion for food and his sense of humour, providing an entertaining and unique experience for his students.

Bob Blumer - Food Network Celebrity and Host of Glutton for Punishment

Culinary adventurer, chef, artist and seven time World Record holder Bob Blumer is the creator and host of the award-winning “Glutton for Punishment” and “Surreal Gourmet.”

In his new series “World’s Weirdest Restaurants,” the passionate and tireless gastronaut circles the globe in his quest to find the world’s weirdest and wackiest restaurants. Some of his discoveries include a Japanese tavern where monkeys serve beer, a New York City pop-up restaurant where patrons dine in the nude, and an eatery in Taipei where curry is served in miniature porcelain toilet bowls!

On “Glutton for Punishment,” Blumer channels his passion for food and his competitive nature into a series of culinary adventures that are inspiring, entertaining and often amusing. In every episode, he has five days to learn a physically daunting culinary skill, then he is thrown to the wolves as he competes in a related professional competition, or attempts to rise to the occasion of a challenge. In the fifth and final season of the show, Blumer successfully broke or established six food-related world records.

On “Surreal Gourmet” and in his books, Blumer transforms ordinary ingredients into wow-inspiring dishes through simple cooking methods and whimsical presentations that along with his iconic Toastermobile, have become his culinary trademark. His artful approach to cooking, confidence-inspiring instructions, and contagious enthusiasm endear him to a loyal following in North America, Asia, and Europe—territories where he travels regularly.

Blumer is also the author of five acclaimed cookbooks and the co-author of the best-selling Pizza on the Grill. His most recent book Glutton for Pleasure: signature recipes, epic stories and surreal etiquette was summed up by Publisher’s Weekly as “equal parts memoir, lavish art book, multi-genre soundtrack and culinary tour de force.”

When he is not traveling for work or pleasure—which is most of the time—the transplanted Canadian cycles daily in the canyons near his home in the Hollywood Hills, doing his best to stay in shape for his next big adventure.
